The 1989 PORSCHE 930 ‘SLANTNOSE’ story begins with Norbert Singer’s development of a race car using the 930 Turbo. After Kremer Racing offered a conversion kit, TAG owner Mansour Ojjeh commissioned Porsche to develop a road-legal version of the 935 race car. The ‘Flachbau’ or 'Slantnose' was introduced as a ‘Special Request Program’ from 1986 to 1989 using the 930 body and a restyled front nose which with a 3.3-litre turbocharged flat-6 engine, enabled it to accelerate from 0–97 km/h in 4.85 seconds reaching a top speed of 278 km/h. All this packaged into a limited number of 948 units and you can imagine the price!
